Funeral details announced for young man, Colm Lynch-O’Sullivan after tragic crash in Co Laois

Funeral arrangements have been announced for a young man who sadly lost his life in a road crash in Laois in the early hours of Thursday, as tributes continue to be paid, reports The Mirror.

Colm Lynch O’Sullivan, aged in his 20s, died in a single-vehicle accident that took place at Ballaghmore in Borris-In-Ossory.

According to his RIP.ie death notice, Colm, who was from Cloncoure, Ballaghmore, Laois / Roscrea, Tipperary, is mourned by his parents Olive and Con. He was predeceased by his sister Grace and is deeply missed by his brothers Brendan and Tómas, as well as his aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends, reports The Mirror.

Colm will repose at Tierney’s Funeral Home in Roscrea on Sunday evening, with visitation from 4pm to 7pm.

He will leave his home in Cloncourse on Monday morning at 10.30am for a funeral mass at 11am in St Molua’s Church, Ballaghmore, reports The Mirror.

Burial will follow in the cemetery beside the church.

Tributes for Colm continue to be shared, with one person writing: “Colm was a real gentleman and always so good humoured” and calling him a “gentle soul”, reports The Mirror.

“Sincere sympathy to Con, Olive, Tòmas and Brendan on the tragic loss of Colm. Colm was a real gentleman and always so good humoured. You are in our thoughts and prayers at this sad time. May Colm’s gentle soul rest in the arms of Jesus,” they said.

Another mourner shared: “Olive and Con, family and friends, we are so sorry to hear about Colm’s untimely death. There are no words for this tragedy. You are in our thoughts at this very difficult time. Rest in peace Colm, bed of heaven to you,” reports The Mirror.

A further tribute read: “Sincere sympathy on the tragic loss of your darling son and brother Colm. There are no words of consolation to offer you at this terrible time but be assured you are in my thoughts and prayers. Rest in peace Colm and watch over all those whose hearts are broken on your tragic passing,” reports The Mirror.

Local councillor John King said on Thursday that the communities of Ballaghmore and Roscrea, where Colm worked with his father Con in the family garage, were “in complete shock and heartbroken.”

“There is complete shock and sadness around,” Cllr King said. “The loss of a young life is horrendous for his heartbroken family and to the area as well, reports The Mirror.

“My deepest sympathies go to the young man’s family. It is not an easy time,” said Cllr King, reports The Mirror.
