The funeral Mass of Mairead Moran at St Eoghan’s Church in Kilmoganny, Co Kilkenny today.
Mairead 26 was tragically stabbed to death at the Holland and Barrett store in which she worked in the Market Cross shopping centre last Thursday evening. Mairead was closing up the store when a man who since been charged with her murder, proceeded to attack her.
Locals attending the funeral have been shocked by Mairead’s death.
Alyssia Carney, who is from the Kilmaganney area, stated “It’s a massive shock. We’re usually watching (things like this) on the televsion, and then it came to our own village. We just couldn’t believe it.
“We’re devatstated for her family – (her parents) Pete and Margo are the nicest people you could meet – and for her two sisters as well.”
