Funeral services will be held next week for a couple and their son who were discovered deceased in their residence in Co Louth, reports RTE.
Mark O’Connor, 54, his wife Louise, 56, and their 27-year-old son Evan were found dead at the family home in Dromgowna, near the village of Tallanstown, on Monday morning.
A joint funeral mass for the three will take place at St Patrick’s Cathedral in Dundalk on Tuesday morning, reports RTE.
Instead of floral tributes, the family has asked for donations to be made to The Hub Praxis Care in Drogheda and Drogheda ABACUS School, “reflecting Mark and Louise’s care and generosity to others and the inspiration to many that Evan had become in his short but full life”.
Mourners are also encouraged “to wear odd socks in honour of one of Evan’s individualistic traits” during the days leading up to and including the funeral,” reports RTE.
Praxis Care staff, where Evan had been attending for the past nine years, remembered him as “nothing short of a bright shining star”.
Drogheda Abacas Special School honoured Mark and Louise as “founder parents” and Evan as one of the first two students to attend the school, reports RTE.
“Both Mark and Louise were passionate advocates for their son Evan and for all autistic people,” reports RTE.
Robert O’Connor, 31, of Drumgowna, Louth Village, appeared before a special sitting of Drogheda District Court last Tuesday, facing three charges of murder, reports RTE.
