The could be further disruption fo students in the coming months ahead as the Association of Secondary Teachers Ireland (ASTI) have confirmed they will hold a ballot for industrial action.
The possible strike action could come as members are becoming more concerned over the possibility of further redundancies’.
The union confirmed the ballot earlier today at a meeting of its Central Executive Committee.
A union spokesperson said a number of unnecessary redundancies are planned and such action is needed to protect its members.
