Further industrial action ahead as nursing staff at Cavan General Hospital are to protest over staff shortages




There will be more strike action scene later today as Members of the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) at Cavan General Hospital will have confirmed they will stage a lunchtime protest in a dispute over poor management of staffing levels at the hospital.

Speaking last an INMO spokesperson said that “inadequate staffing levels, pervasive throughout the hospital, are negatively impacting upon patient care and are affecting the health, safety and well-being of nursing/midwifery staff”.

“The INMO has had several engagements with management in an attempt to address the staffing deficits in the hospital,” as a result the union feels industrial must be undertaken in order to address the issue.
