The prospect of further disruption to commuters and rail travellers raised its ugly head again tonight after talks between management and drivers broke down without reaching agreement.
Siptu and the National Bus and Railworkers’ Union (NBRU) representatives have said that they are considering a second round of industrial action, unless significant progress is achieved in the negotiations for improved pay and conditions.
According to a spokesperson, negotiations collapsed because Irish Rail “were not willing to engage on past productivity”.
