There was more tragedies on Irish roads this past weekend as two motorcyclists were killed in separate road collisions in Co Roscommon and Co Down on Sunday afternoon.
Gardai say a man aged in his 40s was tragically killed in Co Roscommon, following a in Summerhill, Athlone. It is understood the man died after he collided with a car on the stretch of road at approximately 1pm on Sunday.
Gardai say the man was treated at the scene by paramedics and was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Galway where he was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.
Meanwhile in Co Down, a 66-year-old motorcyclist has sadly died following a two-vehicle crash in Newry on Sunday.
It is understood the motorcyclist was involved in a collision with a Land Rover Discovery, on the Warrenpoint Road at approximately 12.30pm.
