Further warnings have been issued to parents as the dangerous Momo Challenge has reportedly been discovered on children’s games and programmes.
The warning comes after a school in Hull, England, revealed that young children are being targeted by the challenge in apps and games including, YouTube, Fortnite and Peppa Pig.
In a post on Twitter Northcott Community Special School said: “We are aware that some nasty challenges (Momo challenge) are hacking into children’s programmes.”
Challenges appear midway through Kids YouTube, Fortnight, Peppa pig to avoid detection by adults.
“Please be vigilant with your child using IT, images are very disturbing.”
The warning comes after hackers have been sending violent images which encourages self-harm to children as young as seven over social media platforms.
Meanwhile Gardaà have issued a warning to parents as the dangerous challenge has been reported in Ireland in recent weeks.
