Emilia Clarke, best known for her role as Daenerys Targaryen in the blockbuster Game of Thrones series, has said that she would be rather keen on taking on the role of 007 going forward.
Daniel Craig’s tenure as the suave but implacable James Bond will soon come to an end after 13 years. Speculation about his successor has been rife, and it has been rumoured that producers want to ‘diversify’ the role by introducing a female James Bond.
But purists have taken issue with such suggestion, correctly pointing out that Ian Fleming specifically described James Bond as a ‘British man of lean build’.
The next installment in the long-running series, No Time to Die, is in the pipeline but no actor, male or female, has yet been confirmed to play the daring British spy at His Majesty’s Service.
