Gangland Warfare: Armed Gardai units have been deployed to Dublin’s north inner city

In a desperate attempt to stop further gang warfare on the streets of the capital, new units of heavily armed Gardaí have been deployed on the streets of Dublin after more death threats have circulated in the City’s latest gang war.

Checkpoints have been setup around various parts of the north inner city this evening, within a one mile radius of the Regency hotel where all hell broke loose last Friday.

Up to 100 gardai are said to be patrolling the area until further notice.

Eddie Hutch, aged in his 50s and a brother of well known Gerry Hutch, nicknamed The Monk, was murdered last night in his home off Dublin’s North Strand in what is being classed as retaliation for murder of David Byrne at the Regency Hotel last Friday.

Indeed Byrne’s own death was said to be in retaliation for the killing of Gary Hutch, the first victim of this deadly new warfare out in Spain’s Costa del Sol last September.

Gardai have warned the public to be vigilant for the coming weeks.
