Gardai rushed to the scene on Thursday evening after reports of shots fired at a house in Ballyfermot, Dublin.
The incident happened in the Oranmore Road area of the locality. Up to four garda vehicles were dispatched to deal with the situation.
Ballyfermot has seen a spike in violent incidents in recent days. Earlier this week, a number of houses had to be evacuated while experts dealt with a suspected explosive device.
