A man in his twenties has passed away after a swimming mishap in a river located in Co Kerry, reports RTE.
The individual had been swimming in the River Flesk in Killarney at approximately 3.30pm Tuesday afternoon when he encountered trouble.
Emergency responders were notified, and the man was taken from the water, reports RTE.
He was declared dead at the location.
A post-mortem is scheduled to be carried out, and a report will be compiled for the coroner.
Authorities are understood to be treating the event as a tragic accident, reports RTE.
