Garda Michael Toomey is being deemed a hero and he was ploughed into by two thieves in a reckless manner in Cork this morning.
The garda was stopping traffic on the Mallow road to control the situation and keep other drivers safe out of the way. Meanwhile, the thieves who had burglared a nearby hotel, drove straight into the 35 year old father of two leaving him with serious injuries.
