Garda fail to release description of person or persons involved in alleged rape of child in Mayo playground for some reason

In a horrific incident in Mayo a 15-year-old girl has allegedly been raped in a playground the Lowpark area of Charlestown on Sunday.

RTE reported that Gardai are appealing for information on the incident and appealed for witnesses who were in the area between 2PM and 8PM on Sunday.

While the Gardai have appealed for help from the public they have so far failed to release any description of the teenage girl’s alleged attacker or any cohorts that accompanied him for some reason.

A forensic examination at the scene of the attack has been carried out and the Sun has reported a statement from a Garda spokesman saying:

“Anyone with information, particularly anyone who was in the vicinity of the Square and/or Lowpark areas of Charlestown between 2pm – 8pm, is asked to contact Garda in Claremorris on 094 937 2080 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 66-61-11.”
