
Gardaí in South Dublin are continuing to question a woman following an incident on Saturday afternoon that seen a 3-yr-old hospitalised.
It is understood the Garda investigation comes after the young girl was allegedly assualted at her home in Aubrey Grove, Shankill, Dublin, at 4.15pm on Saturday afternoon.
The young child was taken to Our Lady’s Hospital in Crumlin.
Gardai say a woman aged in her 40s was subsequently arrested on suspicion of assault causing harm to the child.
She is currently being held at a southside garda station and being questioned over the incident.
The house where the alleged assualt took place has been sealed off for a technical examination.
