Gardai in Co Donegal have confirmed that an investigation has been stood down after bones found in a forest have been confirmed to be animal remains.
It is understood that an investigation was launched after the bones were discovered in a forest in Ballybofey, on Wednesday.
Although the scene had been cordoned off, Gardai have since said the remains were that of an animal.
They added that no further action will be taken.
