Gardaí in Limerick have launched an investigation after a 13-year-old boy was seriously injured following an attack in Galbally.
According to The Limerick Leader newspaper, the boy sustained a serious head injury after he was knocked off his bicycle by a man in Ard na mbóthair, on Monday, June 22nd.
It is understood the boy who was out cycling with his dog was knocked off his bicycle after a man in a white car stopped and left his vehicle before proceeding to strike the boy in the face.
Gardaí say the boy was taken to Temple Street Children’s Hospital where he underwent surgery for a head injury.
They added that an investigation is currently ongoing and are appealing for witnesses who may have been in the area to come forward and contact them.
