Gardaí in Dublin have begun an investigation after a man was seriously injured following an alleged assault over the weekend.
It is understood the investigation comes after the man was seriously injured following the incident which occurred outside a McDonalds fast food restaurant near the Belgard Road and Square shopping centre in Tallaght, Dublin, in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Although Gardai say the man’s injuries are not life-threatening he was hospitalised following the incident.
They also say a man aged in his 20s has since been arrested in connection with the incident but has since been released without charge and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
