Gardaí in Dublin have begun an investigation after a car went into the water off Howth Pier this morning.

It is understood the investigation comes after the car which had a sole male occupant went into the water at approximately 10:30am this morning.
Gardaí say the man was rescued from the vehicle and was Beaumont Hospital shortly afterwards.
They added that the man was taken to hospital fully conscious.
