Gardai in Limerick have launched an investigation after a man was stabbed in the city on Sunday evening.
According to The Irish Mirror newspaper, the investigation comes after the man believed to be an Eastern European national sustained serious injuries following the incident which occurred on Ellen Street.
It is reported that the injured man was taken to University Hospital Limerick where he remains in critical condition.
The Irish Mirror reports that another man has been arrested in connection with the incident and he is currently being questioned at Henry Street Garda Station.
