
Gardaí in Co Offaly have launched an investigation after a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted in Edenderry.
According to The Offaly Express newspaper, the young woman aged in her 20s was allegedly assaulted in the Blundell Wood area of the town, close to the Grand Canal at approximately 3.25am on the morning of Sunday the 17th of June.
The paper states the young woman was allegedly assaulted in a woodland area as she walked home from work.
It is understood the woman was attacked when a man wearing a hoodie approached her on the street before he dragged her into the woods and assaulted her.
Gardaí say no arrests have yet been made and an investigation is currently ongoing.
