Gardai in Co Tipperary have begun an investigation after a man aged in his 70s was assaulted in Clonmel on Tuesday.
According to the Irish Mirror newspaper, it is believed the investigation comes after the elderly man suffered non-life threatening injuries following the attack which occurred in Haywood Close at approximatley 8am Tuesday morning.
In a statement a Garda spokesperson confirmed that the elderly gentleman suffered non-life threatening injuries in the attack, they also said he was brought to a nearby hospital to receive treatment.
