Garda investigation underway after man aged in his 50s badly beaten by gang in Supermac’s toilets




Gardai have begun an inquiry after a man was violently attacked in the restroom of a fast food outlet in County Galway over the weekend, reports The Mirror.

The assault happened inside the bathroom of Supermac’s located in Eyre Square, Galway city, just before 10pm on Saturday night (August 2).

Gardai report that a man in his 50s was attacked by three other males in the restroom area of the busy establishment, reports The Mirror.

The man sustained multiple injuries during the alleged incident and received attention from emergency personnel at the location.

Authorities have stated that they are looking into the reported assault, reports The Mirror.

In a statement provided to the Irish Mirror, a garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí received a report of an alleged assault at a premises in Eyre Square, Galway, at approximately 9:50pm on 2nd August, 2025. A man, aged in his 50s, was assaulted by three males in the toilets of the premises. The man was given medical assistance. Investigation ongoing,” reports The Mirror.
