
Gardai in Cork have begun an investigation after the body of a man was recovered from the River Lee this morning.

It is believed the man aged in his 50s was recovered from the water by rescue divers near Popes Quay, at approximatley 9:20am this morning.
Gardai say they believe the man’s death may have been a personal tragedy but an investigation is currently ongoing.
It is expected the results of a post-mortem examination will determine the cause of the man’s death
