Gardaí in Dublin have begun an investigation following a suspected hit and run incident in the city on Friday night.
It is understood the investigation comes after the man aged in his 20s was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle on Cork Street at approximately 10.15pm.
Gardaí say the injured man was taken to St James’s Hospital where he remains in serious condition.
They added that the vehicle failed to stop at the scene and was last seen travelling in the direction of Dolphin’s Barn.
