Garda make arrest after woman hospitalised after being stabbed in Navan on Saturday night




A woman remains in hospital after being stabbed Saturday night at her home, reports The Mirror.

A second woman was arrested in connection with an incident that took place at a flat on Commons Road in Navan, Co. Meath, between 5pm and 6pm.

Currently, she is being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda Station located in the Meath region.

In a statement to this paper, An Garda Siochana said: “Gardaí are investigating an incident of assault which occurred at a domestic residence on Commons Road, Navan, Co. Meath on Saturday, August 26. A woman has been taken to our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Drogheda to be treated for her injuries. Another woman has been arrested in relation to this incident. She is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda Station in the Meath Region,” reports The Mirror.

Gardai are now appealing for anyone who was in the Commons Road area of the town between 5pm and 6pm and has any information to contact Navan Garda Station on 046-903 6100, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.

“No further information is available at this time,” the statement said, reports The Mirror.
