Gardaí have confirmed that two officera has been injured after a patrol car collided with a loose horse on Tuesday.
It is understood one of the garda officers suffered a broken arm and head injuries following the collision which occurred on the N18.
The Garda Representative Association say the officer is being treated in hospital and investigation is ongoing.
They also confirmed that the horse died at the scene.
