
A man has been taken into custody after a garda was attacked with a bladed weapon during a burglary at a premises in Blanchardstown, County Dublin, in the early hours of this morning, reports RTE.
Gardaà responded to reports of a burglary at a business location in Dublin 15 at 3.45am.
While conducting a search of the premises, officers encountered a man in his 30s carrying a bladed weapon, who became hostile and threatening, reports RTE.
A garda in his 20s sustained injuries and was brought to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown for treatment of injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
The man was arrested at the scene and is currently detained at a garda station in Dublin, reports RTE.
A bladed weapon was recovered from the scene, along with €1,500 in cash.
Investigations are continuing, reports RTE.
