The Garda Representative Association has said they must discuss what form of industrial action to take after they rejected the latest pay proposal from the Department of Justice.
The news comes after the Central Executive Committee of the GRA held a meeting in Tullamore earlier today.
It is understood the association overwhelmingly rejected new proposals that would see new recruits receiving a €4,000 rent allowance along with the commitment to restore increments.
The association will now hold further negotiations as to when ans what form of strike action will occur.
