An investigation of an alleged sex attack by a Garda on an 11-year-old girl is underway.
The Garda in question is based in the Munster region, and is said to be denying the allegations.
A Garda spokesperson confirmed the investigation saying, “This matter has been referred to the Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission and therefore An Garda Síochána cannot comment further.”
A spokesperson for GSOC said they cannot comment on the case.
