Gardai have warned motorists to take extra care on the roads this morning after heavy snowfalls have left roads treacherous.
Motorists have been advised by both the Gardai and the AA to take extra care on the roads this morning as heavy snowfall, ice and frost have taken grip of the country.
The North and West have seen some 2 inches of snowfall but it’s the ice that’s the worst problem.
Motorists have been advised that not all roads have been gritted and that most B roads are still ungritted.
It’s understood that the roads will be bad until midday but that isolated wintry showers will persist in areas throughout the North and West.
