
Gardaí and Customs officials have confirmed that €30,000 worth of cigarettes and tobacco were seized in operations this past weekend.
In a statement Gardaí confirmed that 24,000 cigarettes with an estimated value of €16,500 were seized from a premises in Enniscorthy, Co Wexford.
A man aged in his 50s was questioned following the discovery.
Meanwhile 19.6kg of tobacco, worth an estimated €11,500 was seized, following a search of two premises in Nenagh, Co Tipperary.
Gardaí say a man aged in his 20s and a woman aged in her 40s was questioned in relation to the seizure.
