Gardai and customs officials have confirmed that €3.8m worth of cigarettes at Dublin Port.
It is understood that Richmond and Old H branded cigarettes were found on board a ship which came from Germany.
Gardai say the cigarettes represented a €3.25m loss to the exchequer.
They added that an investigation is currently ongoing.
