Gardai in Dublin have issued an appeal for information following a cash-in-transit robbery on Tuesday.
The appeal comes after a cash box was stolen from a security guard on Thomas Street at approximately 12:45pm.
It is understood that the man armed with a hammer threatened the security guard before he fled the scene with the box on a bicycle.
Gardai say the empty box which contained an undisclosed quantity of cash was later found empty and on fire on St Kevin’s Avenue off New Street, Dublin.
They added that no one was injured in the incident.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is being asked to contact Gardai at Kevin Street Garda Station.
