Gardai appeal to witnesses of hit-and-run to come forward

Gardai in Howth are this morning appealing for witnesses of a hit-and-run incident to come forward.

The incident happened at approximately 12:45am on Saturday 9th July, on Strand Road, Baldoyle.

The vehicle involved is described as a black Volvo S.40 model with an 07-D registration.

This vehicle drove down the Strand Road in the direction of Main Street in Baldoyle, hit a 26 year old male cyclist, and failed to remain at the scene.

The car was later found abandoned Castlemoyne Estate. The two front tyres had been blown, which means the vehicle was circulating on rims when it was abandoned.

Gardai are asking for witnesses, or anyone with informatin regarding this incident, to contact Howth Garda Station on 01-6664900, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
