Gardai are investigating a claim of an attempted kidnapping of a 6-yr-old boy that occurred in the middle of the week.

The father of the boy said that a group of kids were playing on the green in their estate in Ardamine, when a man approached them and asked would they like to get into his car because “he had sweets in the car”.

The children all instantly knew the danger and ran into a garden in one of the houses, but this one little boy tried to run home. The alleged kidnapper ran after the boy but could not catch him.

The children said the man was extremely aggressive looking and angry. But perhaps even more sinister is the fact he had a female accomplice waiting for him in his vehicle.

Parents in the area are said to be very concerned about the incident and a full report is now being investigated by An Gardai.

Witnesses say the man was driving a silver Nissan Almera car, people specifically in the Wexford area are said to be extra vigilant until gardai get in contact with the man involved.
