Gardai in Dublin have confirmed that a total of 46 people have been arrested following an operation targeting organised begging in the city.
It is understood the arrests were made after officers from Pearce Street Garda conducted the operation last weekend starting from Friday November 9th to Sunday 11th.
Gardai say the operation which involved the use of both uniformed and plain clothes officers particularly focused on the Grafton Street and Temple Bar area’s of the city.
They added that all those arrested were charged under the Criminal Justice Act 2011.
It is expected that all 46 charged will appear before court on Thursday December 6th.
