Gardaí in Dublin have confirmed they have arrested a man aged in his 20s in connection with a robbery that occurred in Rathmines on Saturday evening.
The arrest which was made earlier today after Gardaí tracked down the man’s whereabouts following an investigation.
It is understood the man entered a supermarket on Upper Rathmines Road in Dublin 6 at approximately 8.50pm on Saturday evening.
The man then approached the cashier and threatened him, before he made off on foot with a significant quantity of cash.
Gardaí say the man is currently being detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Terenure Garda Station
