Gardai arrested nine men in Cork during several incidents on Saturday night.
It is understood that a group of young males was spotted loitering around the city centre area. Gardai suspected that the group might have been involved in petty drug dealing. One male attempted to run away but was quickly apprehended.
Gardai also made arrests in other areas of the city centre, mostly for minor offences.
