Six people, three men and three women, were arrested in Navan yesterday evening as part of an investigation into alleged human trafficking.

It is understood that up to 20 people were found falsely imprisoned in a house in Castletown, Kilpatrick in Navan, Co Meath. Gardai removed them from the house, and gave them access to an interpreter to explain their situation.

The six people arrested in connection with the incident are currently detained under Section Four of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Kells and Ashbourne Garda stations.
