GardaĆ suspect that a man discovered dead in Co Donegal may have lost his life following a violent altercation, as the local community reacts with disbelief, reports The Mirror.

GardaĆ sealed off the property as they awaited the arrival of a forensic team, with the manās remains still at the scene on Sunday night.
Initial indications from local Garda sources suggest the manās death could be the result of a violent incident. The local Coroner has been informed, and a post-mortem by the State Pathologist will be scheduled. The outcome of that examination will determine the next steps in the inquiry, reports The Mirror.
Local representative Councillor Niamh Kennedy described the event as deeply unusual for the town. She said: “People are just shocked that somebody has been found dead in these circumstances. It is certainly not the norm in Killybegs.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of this man. They are a very well-known family in the area. Harbour View is normally a quiet estate and this has just shocked people,” reports The Mirror.
A Garda spokesperson issued a statement saying: āGardaĆ in Donegal are investigating all of the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a body in Killybegs this afternoon, Sunday, 13 Aprilā.
They also appealed to the public: āAnyone with information is asked to contact Ballyshannon Garda Station on 071 9858530, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station,” reports The Mirror.
