Gardai believe woman may have drowned trying to rescue her dog in Co Meath

Gardai are investigating after a woman’s body was pulled from the River Boyne in County Meath.

The woman, in her 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene on Friday evening.

The Gardai are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the finding of the body in Trim on Friday evening.

An autopsy is expected at a later date, which will determine the progress of the investigation.

Gardai are working on the possibility that the woman sadly fell into the water while she was trying to rescue her dog, but this hasn’t been confirmed.
