Gardaí say they have already detected a considerable number motorists speeding on Irish roads as part of ‘Operation Slow Down’ on Friday.
Gardai say that they caught the culprits speeding within the first three and a half hours of the initiative, between 7am to 10.30 on Friday morning, gardaí say that they checked 20,227 vehicles.
It is believed that Gardai will setup checkpoints across the country over the weekend as they are urging motorists to slow down this bank holiday weekend.
