Gardaí in Co Donegal have sadly confirmed that a man who was rescued from the River Erne in Ballyshannon, Co Donegal earlier today, has sadly passed away.
It is understood the man was rescued by the Coast Guard after he got into difficulties in the water shortly after midday.
Gardaí say the man who was rushed to Sligo University Hospital, sadly passed away a short time later.
