Gardai have confirmed that one person has died after a house fire in Waterford city overnight.
It is understood that the incident happened in the Ballytruckle Court area of the city in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The deceased was believed to be in his 80s.
Gardai are treating the death as a tragic accident.
