Gardai are today hunting for two men after an overnight taxi hijacking incident in Naas.
The driver picked up a fare at around 3.30am in Popular Square. He was then forcibly ejected from the vehicle on the Sallins to Straffan Road and put in the boot.
The hijackers drove to the Kill to Kilteel road, adjacent to the N7.
The driver managed to free himself shortly afterwards and the two men fled on foot with a small amount of cash and the taxi driver’s mobile phone.
Gardaí sources describe the suspects as being in their 30s, of slim build, and spoke with Eastern European, possibly Polish accents.
