Gardai in Clondalkin have are still conducting a major manhunt this evening after a woman was horrifically raped in a West-Dublin housing estate yesterday morning.
It is believed the brutal attack happened at approximately 1.40am on Thursday morning in the Monastery area of Clondalkin. Gardai say the victim is currently in a severe state of shock following the harrowing incident. Gardai say the woman suffered a “a particularly violent attack” as she walked along a road in the estate, which is located between Clondalkin village and the N4 dual-carriageway.
The woman was immediately taken to the Sexual Assault Treatment Unit (SATU) in the Rotunda Hospital following the assault, where she was treated for her injuries. Gardai have since conducted a full forensic technical examination of the area.
It is understood that no arrests have yet been made but Detectives from Clondalkin Garda Station are still currently investigating the crime.
