Gardai in Co Donegal confirm the bodies of two men involved a drowning incident over the weekend have been recovered




Gardaí in Co Donegal have confirmed that the bodies of two men who reportedly died in a drowning accident over the weekend have been recovered.

It is understood the two men tragically lost their lives after they got into difficulty in their boat which set off from Teelin Pier shortly after lunchtime on Saturday afternoon.

After a long Search the bodies of both men were recovered on Sunday after Gardai enlisted the help of the Irish Coast Guard as part of the search.

Gardai say the body of one man, aged in his 50s, was recovered on the shore at Malinbeg, near Carrick, at approximately 10.30am on Sunday morning.

Meanwhile it is believed the other man aged in his 40s, was found in the water by coastguard officers close to Malinbeg.

Gardai say an investigation is currently ongoing.
