Gardaí in Co Louth have launched an investigation after a woman was falsely imprisoned in Dundalk.
According to The Irish Mirror newspaper, the investigation comes after the woman sustained potentially blinding injuries in the attack which occurred last Wednesday.
It is understood the woman aged in her 40s is receiving treatment at Dublin’s Mater Hospital.
Gardaí say a man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
