The picturesque and peaceful seaside town of Dunfanaghy in Donegal was the unlikely scene for a “brutal” attack on two Gardai.
On Wednesday night, in the town’s Market Square, two Gardai were “brutally assaulted” as one was bitten and another was head-butted by a man after he was stopped in his Porsche jeep, reports the Mirror. The man driving the Porsche – with a Northern “yellow reg” came to the gardai’s attention after colliding with parked cars and a building after 8pm.
Two Garda were allegedly attacked by the driver as he tried to resist arrest.
He is to appear before the courts at a later date where he will be charged.
